今日は祖母の88歳のお誕生日。 米寿です。
我慢強く、控えめで、愚痴を言わない賢い昔の日本の女性です。
平日で家族が集まることは出来なかったので、電報を送りました。
最近は私が結婚していないことが心配の種らしく・・・・ ってことで、私が結婚するまでは
元気で長生きしてねって、メッセージにしてみました。
春になったらみんなで集まってお祝いです。
Today was my grand mother’s 88th birthday. In Japan, it is special age to celebrate.
She is a typical Japanese woman, who is very patient, modest, and kind, and who never complains about anything nor anyone.
As it was weekday and was hard for the family to get together, my sister and I sent her a birthday telegram. I was told that she had been worried about me not married, so I asked her to live many more years to see me getting married :)
We will have a party when the weather gets warm in Spring!
