とうとう東北地方でも桜が開花しはじめたみたいですね
今年はお花見の時期も早いみたいですね
入学シーズンまで桜がもってることを祈ります
今日は日本の文化の象徴であるお花見を
英語で紹介したいと思います
外国人観光客も多くなる時期、
桜を撮りにきている方に英語で紹介できると
格好良いですよね
“Ohanami" means cherry blossom viewing.
Blossom という単語は樹木に咲く花（特に果樹：apple や orange も） を指すもので、桜にはFlowerは用いません。
★ 桜は３月の終わりか４月の初めに満開になります。
時期は桜の樹の種類、気象条件、地方によって変わります。
Cherry trees come into full bloom at the end of March or the
beginning of April. It varies depending upon the type of cherry
tree, weather conditions, and locality.
★ 桜の満開の期間は非常に短いので、私たちの人生もまたつかの間で、
美とははかないものであることを思い出させます。
As they are in full bloom for a very short period of time,
it reminds us that our lives are also brief, and beauty is fleeting.
★ 日本人は、７世紀頃からお花見を楽しんできました。その昔は貴族だけに
用意された毎年の行事でした。彼らは和歌を作り、美しい情景を楽しみました。
Japanese people have been enjoying ohanami since the 7th
century. It used to be a yearly ritual reserved only for
aristocrats. They wrote "waka (poems)" and enjoyed looking
at the beautiful scenery.
★ 人々は桜のすばらしい景色を求めて、公園、庭園、山などを訪れます。
そして同僚、家族、友人などと共に過ごす時間を楽しみます。
People go to parks, gardens, or mountain settings to get a
good view of cherry blossoms. And they enjoy getting
together with their co-workers, family members, and friends.
★ お花見の季節には、多くの公園が大変混雑します。眺めのよい場所を
取るのがかなり困難なこともあるので、完璧な場所取りを目指して、前の晩から
泊り込む人もいるほどです。
Many parks get really crowded during ohanami season.
Sometimes it's quite hard to get a good spot for viewing,
so some people even stay overnight to get the perfect one.
★ 満開の桜の枝の下で、彼らは食べて飲んでカラオケを楽しみます。
They eat, drink, and sing karaoke under the branches with
cherry blossoms in full bloom.
