12月5日、郵便局の方が勉強会を開いてくれました。

JAPAN POST SERVICE's staff held a study session about below on December 5th, 2011.

* About Post service in Japan

* How to receive a package by mail

* How to send a package, mail etc by post

* About NENGAJO

We have a custom to send Nengajo to relatives and friends.

みんな真剣に聞いていました

郵便局の方から「ＥＭＳを発送するときに無料で集荷してくれる」と聞き、

今まで重たい荷物を郵便局まで持ちこんでいたそうで

学生たちから「え～～、知らなかった」との声が！！

年賀状についても勉強し、ある学生は先生に年賀状を書いてみると言っていました。

Participants listened them carefully.

When JP's staff told participants that JP collects a shipment by free,

they were surprised and someone said,

" Ohhhhhhh, I haven't known it. I brought a heavy package to Post office."

We learned about Nengajo. One student is going to send Nengajo to his teacher.

酉の市

【酉の市】

酉の市とは、11月の酉の日（十二支）を祭日として、浅草の酉の寺（鷲在山長國寺）や各地の鷲神社、大鳥神社で行われる、開運招福・商売繁盛を願う祭りで、江戸時代から続く代表的な年中行事です。

鷲神社は日本武尊（やまとたけるのみこと）を祀（まつ）り、開運、商売繁盛の神として信仰されています。

縁起物を売る露店が立ち並び、おかめの面や小判などをつけた大小さまざまの熊手（くまで）や、頭（かしら）の芋（いも）（八つ頭など）や黄金餅（こがねもち）などの土産（みやげ）物を、景気のよい売り声で売っています。

酉の日の祭日が12日おきに巡ってくるため、祭りが2回の年と3回の年があり、現在でも「三の酉」まである年は、火事が多いといわれています。

【What is Tori no ichi fair?】

Tori no Ichi Fair (open-air market) is a famous annual event in November on the day of the Tori (Rooster) in Chinese calendar and this event has continued to today since the Edo period.
Tori no Ichi is held at Temple of Tori (Juzaisan Chokoku-ji) in Asakusa, Tokyo or various shrines of Washi (Eagle) and many people come to there to pray for a health, good fortune and good business.

The day of the Tori (Rooster) comes every 12 days in November and generally, the first day of the Tori is most important. However it is said that a fire is likely to take place in the year that the day of the Tori has 3 times.

12月8日熊谷の髙城神社で酉の市が行われました。

Tori no Ichi Fair was held at Takagi shrine in Kumagaya on December 8th.
