今日は、お父さんにお使いを頼まれた

Sammy の歌です。

Sammy は、お使いが面倒そうです。

His father sent him out to buy bread

But Sammy didn't feel like walking

He wished he could fly instead

Her father sent her out to buy bread

But Clara didn't feel like walking

She wished she could gallop instead

This is a story about Lucinda and Jose

Their father sent them out to buy bread

But Lucinda and Jose didn't feel like walking

They wished they could jump instead
And they said

If we were kangaroos
We could jump to the store

We could jump to the store
Jump to the store for our father

Then Sammy and his friends remembered the bread

And they knew they better move along

And as they walked each one smiled

And made up a brand new song

I'm glad I'm me
And I'm walking to the store

歩いていくのが面倒なお使いでも

鳥のように飛んだり

馬のように走ったり

カンガルーのように跳ねたりして

お使いに行けたら楽しそうですね。

この歌は、movement の時間に

使うのがお勧めです。

子供は動物の真似をするのが

大好きですね！

子供がひとりでお使い？

ところで、この歌は、1972年に

リリースされたようです。

この当時は、恐らくアメリカでも

子供が１人でお使いに行くことが

できたんでしょうね。

現在は、州によって年齢が違いますが

10〜14歳頃まで、子供を一人にするのは

法律で禁じられています。

だから、子供に買い物を頼むのも

あり得ないです。

それ以前に、車がないと

買い物に行けない地域の方が

多いかもしれません。

日本のように、初めてのお使いを

ドキドキしながら見守るのは

残念ながら、あまりないでしょう…
