Taking a step forward

I’ve been taking a step forward for a year. Because I love English and I was anxious to improve my English skills. There, the next step, I met many inspiring people. Through a year, I have had a importance on this. Therefore, I found one important thing. Let me describe this.

First of all in last year’s November, I came to go to Mito church. That’s because I was invited by Asami that I met in an international event held in Ibaraki university. There I met the clergyman, Joel. I made friends with many Christians. Most of them were foreigners. So I could enjoy talking with them in English. And this is a biggest chance to know about the project of going to Cambodia to do volunteer. I was interested in volunteer, so I decided to join this wonderful project..

After that, in April, I found an event ‘We are the world’ for the high school students to be held in JICA in Tsukuba. I immediately made up my mind to participate in this interesting project. There were a plenty of stimulative people, all of whom were interested in international affairs. There, we were supposed to do our own presentation. As for our group, we would make the summary of affairs in East South Asia. Then, I was in charge of Cambodia. It was a good chance to know about Cambodia more. For the presentation, I searched for them a lot. At the presentation day, I learned many others’ affairs, especially, developing countries and refugees. I was shocked to see them. I thought I was just happy.

That’s how how, I came to know about some developing countries and refugees. What was the most shocking to me was prostitution. Even children in those countries are prostitute. But it’s taken for granted there. I couldn’t believe such a terrible thing! Moreover I was also shocked that this is caused just by the place they were born. Children who are same age as me is suffering many difficulties. Just by what country they were born.

Fortunately, I have an opportunity to go to Cambodia. I took some steps forward and they were connected each other. So I got to want to work in some relief agencies more obviously.

By the way, in my advances, there were many encounters. For example, I went to JICA. And I met Mr. Onose who works in NGO. He introduced me Mr. Isoyama who works in the United Nations. I will meet him in July. This was like a branch of a tree. I knew one person and he or she introduces the next person. This repeats again and again. This is the group sharing link. I think this is very important in our life. They may support me someday and I may do, too.

This is how, I’ve tried to advance for a year. I took several steps forward and eventually they were connected each other. In other words, these small steps became the big advance. Through this, I met a lot of stimlative people. And they conducted to the new people. I steadily tried to found a strong
