Architecture along the Thames River

The Thames River, the famous river which crosses London. If you travel by a boat on the river which was necessity to grow economy in the history , you can see London's icons of architecture. In London, there art a lot of historical buildings, but also the city has many modern and contemporary architecture.

around me, there are a lot of artists, and also many architect students. I suppose that London dose not have many earthquake, therefore, may be architect can attempt to build a unique construction.

The field architecture, such a interesting subject supposes to be product design in terms of having the concept of usability, also to be installation as considering the impact remained by outward appearances. In other words, it is the perfect art could be.

Science and Art

Time'S gone very quickly, and already it is middle of July. The show Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef would be fit for Summer.
The title Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef. It reminds me someting weird, but the shwow was simple. Literally, handmade, and empasised chemical colour by materials represented "coral reef."




The artists are Margaret and Christine Wertheim from the Institute For Figuring. The institution is located in LOs Angels. According to its website, the institution aims to approach mathmetic and science by taking the way of dimention od art or poetic. The conception is very phlosophical, but the way can be some sort of metaphysics. It is difficult and interesting.

Looking back the exhibition again, chemical material and synthetic compounds are knited as coral reef, also the concept refers to global emvironment problem. Moreover it just lovely crafts.

Summer Show

Summer coming. In London, especially Jun and July are the most brilliant season for a lot of things, and one of the biggerst event is summer shows by art students. particularly, London art student's shows　become the center of world attention on account of there are several evidence in the art context, but also the active power of oung artists can be very attractive. Therefore many media pick up the topic.

Japanses art university of course have a degree show, yet Tamabi or Tokyo Zoukei, for examole, dosen't have a suitable transport connection; in addition, each school is laceted in a diversity of places. It would lead that the show could not be a big event. On the other hand, you can join school show without an effort compairing with Tokyo. This is one adventage.

Anyways I saw the exhibition which taken by University of the Arts London, Central St. Martins College of Art and Design.






There were also many fashion works. Actually St. Martins is well-known about fashion.







Basically, this time was for fine art and fashion.
Due to a lot of student and wroks, the exhibition can not be one time: the shows are devided several times, and total exhibition time will be for about a month. Too many to exhibite. This would bring a conflict to have a nice exhibition space among students, it is more like a war. It is the same as Japan. In a group exhibition, thesre is a competition about getting a good place, and even if it is not good enough they try to make thire own space noticable. Through these experience gradually they get used to do it.

Overall, there are some talenty works, yet most of them are no difference with japanses student's works. On one hand, partly and in fact I thought Japanses student works are much much more higher quality, on the other hand owing to having world wide attension, London student make world where japanese totally can not reach. Eventually the crucial things throgh young artist's works are that we can feel purity and obedience toward making artworks.
