t’s been one hell of a journey journey for my dad over the past 4 1/2 years. There’s been so many times where there seemed like there was hope, and things might go right, only to have it all come crashing down. Over and over again. Every bad situation we were in, I tried to find the positive and the actual level of hope for that particular situation. I don’t know if it sounds crazy, but even being at stage 4 and starting chemo two weeks ago, I thought I would have so much more time for some reason. My dad couldn’t tolerate the first round of chemo, and the blood levels were all over the map. During last two weeks, he started to decline, with no energy at all and not eating much. This part literally came out of nowhere, It felt like. Like he was driving himself to appointments just a couple weeks ago, and watching baseball games on tv with me .
I feel tremendous heartbreak. in this moment. I’m sitting alone here and sobbing and cannot believe we’re actually facing life without dad finally. It hurts so much and I feel so bad for him, and everything he’s gone through. The doctor stopped the chemo a couple days ago because she said it was doing more harm than good. Thank you so much for all the kind people who reached out to me during all of this. and gave me hope and positivity. Praying a miracle, while also trying my hardest to accept current reality.
