Just Getting Older

先日の Noel と Gem のアコースティック ライブに刺激されて最近は休日によく Guitar を弾いています。今日弾いていたのは Oasis の5th Studio アルバム Heathen Chemistry からのシングル、The Hindu Times のB面に入っている Just Getting Older です。Oasis はデビュー当時からB面でもいい曲が多く、The Masterplan で1枚のアルバムになったくらいです。実際コピーしてみると彼らの曲はとても弾きやすく、歌いやすいです。同じキーの A、Am、A7 のようなコードの展開の仕方は一見シンプルですが、とても耳になじみやすく、その結果、飽きが来ない曲に仕上がっているように思えます。初期の Radiohead の曲を昔コピーしていたときにも思ったのですが、コード進行はシンプルにしてメロディー ラインや曲の展開に変化を付けることでいい曲ができるんだと関心しました。

今回、改めて、Noel のソング ライティングの能力に関心してます。Just Getting Older ですが、曲もいいのですが、歌詞の内容に共感するものがあります。昔と違う感じ方がするのは精神的にまいっているからか、それとも年をとったからなのか。。やはり、年齢を重ねて、いろいろな経験をしたことで成長したからだと。Noel の歌詞は比較的 Positive な歌詞が多いです。
