🏞️ Peter Tosh Memorial Garden
Located in Belmont, a coastal town in Westmoreland Parish, Jamaica, the Peter Tosh Memorial Garden is the final resting place of the reggae legend himself[1][2][3]. It’s a peaceful spot with a small mausoleum, a garden often filled with mango trees and ganja seedlings, and even some memorabilia like his iconic guitar and unicycle. Visitors can explore the grounds, learn about Tosh’s life, and sometimes meet locals who share stories about him. It’s especially lively during Tosh Fest in October!
🎸 About Peter Tosh
Peter Tosh, born Winston Hubert McIntosh on October 19, 1944, in Grange Hill, Jamaica, was one of the original members of The Wailers, alongside Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer[4][5][6]. He was a multi-instrumentalist, a Rastafarian, and a fierce advocate for equal rights, justice, and中略
After leaving The Wailers in 1974, Tosh launched a powerful solo career with albums like:
Legalize It (1976)
Equal Rights (1977)
Bush Doctor (1978, featuring Mick Jagger)
Mama Africa (1983)
He was known for his bold activism, militant lyrics, and unforgettable stage presence—sometimes riding a unicycle on stage! Sadly, he was murdered in 1987 during a home invasion, but his legacy lives on through his music and the annual celebrations in Jamaica.
