今日はクリスマスイブですね⭐

レッスンはお休みでしたが、苦手な帳簿やら
お仕事をして過ごしました。

Christmas is the most exciting holiday for children. I still remember one Christmas morning from my childhood. I woke up to find a present from Santa Claus placed by my pillow, but it was a little bit different from what I had imagined. It was a small, red bento-box-sized pouch with Patty and Jimmy printed in the corner. I remember wondering if my mother had been busy or had simply forgotten what I had wished for. I liked it, yet deep down I suppose I was hoping for something that felt a little more special. People tend to remember unpleasant memories more clearly than happy ones, and perhaps because of that memory, I tried to prepare carefully for Christmas.
When my children are younger, I would offer cookies and milk for Santa under the tree together with my kids and quietly place their gifts around midnight after they fell asleep. The very next morning, My kids' voice woke me up. I lay in bed with my eyes closed, listening as they rushed toward the Christmas tree, laughing and excitedly showing each other their presents from Santa. Watching their happiness warmed my heart .My mom never know the reason, but that may be why I had tried to  make every Christmas special for my own children.

Christmas is about giving.
Do you give something to someone special 
for Christmas? For me, I give some small gifts.
The Christmas season serves as a reminder of
how deeply the people around me care for me.
While it is sometimes difficult to choose a gift
that will make them happy, I still enjoy the
process of thinking about what might bring a
smile to their face. Even without a Christmas
present for myself, such as luxurious jewelry
or fancy dresses, the presence of my friends
and family fills me with warmth. I know what
matters most is not the material gifts but a sense

of gratitude. Nevertheless, I am fond of spending
time picking out small gifts thinking about them.

あと2週間でクリスマス🎄

受験者全員の英検合格証書も届いて

ホッとしていますが、年が明ければ

すぐに2025年度第3回の英検が待っています・・。

さらに大学受験も！

体調管理に一層気を付けなければ！

"Santa Claus is Coming to Town"を

小学生クラスみんなあっという間に

歌詞をみないで歌えるようになりました♪

「先生、片付けしながら歌うから

もう音楽流していいよ。」って

言って、お片づけをしながら

自慢げに英語でクリスマスソングを

歌う小学生たちの可愛いこと！

街から"Santa Claus is Coming to Town"が

流れてきたら英語で口ずさみながら

クリスマス気分を楽しんでもらえたらいいな♪

通常レッスンは来週が今年の最終週です。

子どもから大人まで生徒全員で

さらにクリスマスをテーマにした

レッスンで楽しみます！

Noel's Diary

久しぶりにキャメロン・ディアスの
クリスマス映画"Hliday"が見たくて
検索してみたけど、Amazon primeも
Netflixでも見つからず・・・。
クリスマスの雰囲気に浸りたくて

Netflixで探していて見つけた
"Noel's Diasy"という映画。

とっても素敵な映画なので、Netflixを

サブスクしている方は是非♪
 

イケメン人気作家ジェイクの元を
あることを尋ねるために訪れた
レイチェルとのラブロマンス。
「家族愛」もテーマにした映画です。
クリスマスのお気に入り映画になりました♪

映画の最後の字幕で、
Richard Paul Evans さんの小説が
映画化されたものと知り、Amazonで
検索してみましたが、お値段高め・・。
Richardさんの小説を読んでみたくて

↓を買ってみました。

届くのはクリスマスに間に合わなさそうですが、

のんびり待ってみようと思います♪

待ち望んでいたリースが届いたので

クリスマスツリーも出しました☆

As the Christmas season approaches, 

I feel like buying a small decorative item. 

I used to buy one ornament a year for my 

Christmas tree, enjoying how it made the 

tree look more festive. This year, however, 

I grew eager to buy a Christmas wreath. To 

the best of my recollection, I have never 

bought one before. I searched for one with 

excitement day after day, and eventually I 

found a beautiful wreath made of preserved

berries and foliage, which made it look truly 

stunning. It also gives off a pleasant scent, 

making the space feel like Christmas.

先週からChristmas Songをレッスンで歌っています🎄

年齢やクラスレベルに合わせて曲は違います。

ですから私は毎日クリスマスソングを

歌っています♪

先週初めてレッスンでやったら

どんどん覚えちゃって

帰り道ではもうみんなで歌ったそうで、

やっぱり楽しいことはすぐに

覚えてくれちゃうな～と実感です。

今年はクリスマスリースを初めて買ったので

連休中にクリスマスツリーを出そうかと

思いましたが、リースが届くのが今週なので

届いたら一緒に飾ろうと思います！

大学受験や留学準備クラスなど、

レッスンもあわただしくなってきました。

そして、早々と中学受験後の入会予約も

いただいています。

インフルエンザの流行で先週、今週と

欠席者も多くなってしまいました。

温かいものを食べたり、体を暖めたり

温活して冬の体調管理に励みます！

Candle Night

An evening stroll led me to
a nighttime event called "Candle Night"
 at a nearby park, which, apparently,
has been held for over a decade, yet
it was my family's first time to witness it.
The park glowed softly with hundreds
of candles made from eggshells nestled
 in lanterns made of milk cartons, which
seemed to have been made by the hands
of local residents of all ages.
 Hundreds of flickering candle lights
brought a sense of peace to the neighbors,
ourselves included. Some children were
performing shadow plays with handmade
paper puppets inside a tent. The warm
scene reminded me of a picture from a book
 I had loved in my childhood.

先週末は母の誕生祝に両親を
懐石料理のお店へ連れて行きました。

秋の和食は美味しいものばかり！
 
I made a reservation at an elegant kaiseki-ryori
restaurant to celebrate my mother’s milestone
birthday. Having grown up in the countryside,
she has always been especially fond of traditional
Japanese cuisine, which highlights the beauty
of the seasons and the natural flavors of fresh
ingredients. The restaurant was recommended
by one of my adult students, who mentioned
it was perfect for special occasions, which struck
 me as a perfect choice for her. That month’s menu
showcased exquisite seasonal creations featuring
matsutake mushrooms and Japanese spiny lobsters.
When my father, who usually hesitates to dine out,
heard about it, he decided to join us with delight.
Both of my parents were so enchanted by the meal
that they insisted I make another reservation for
the three of us for the following month
— next time, their treat.

The Previous Exam

今年の英検準２級の長文問題、気づいた方もいると思いますが、

英検２級の過去問長文2Aが英検準２級長文4Bに形を変えて出ました！

英文を読んですぐにあれ？と思って探してみたら、

英文や内容を少し変えて準２級向けに作られています。

もうすぐ今回の英検の問題も見られるようになると思うので

すべての級の問題をいつものように解いていくつもりです。

今週は小学生クラスはHalloween Partyのお菓子を入れる

Treat bag作成の１回目。今年のテーマはモンスター。

個性があってさまざまなモンスターが見られそうです。

来週のレッスンでプレゼンテーションのリハーサルを

しながら完成させる予定です。

A Well-read Gentleman

英検一次試験が終わり、二次試験準備に入ります。

解答速報による自己採点では

一次試験はほとんどの生徒が高得点で合格できて

ホッとしています。

準１級のリスニングの得点がとれないのが心配だった

生徒も前日は最高得点、そして試験日はさらに最高得点

を出して８割以上取れるようになりました！

小学生にとっては月末のHalloween Partyの
プレゼン練習もある中、英検二次試験は
初めての経験になりますが、しっかり準備をして、
試験当日は楽しんでもらえるといいな♪

Yesterday, I stopped by a local bookshop. While standing
 in the checkout line, I saw an elderly man with a bent back
 who looked to be in his eighties. He was holding several

 books close to him and chatting with a cashier about 

other books he subscribes to. Most of them turned out to

 be English textbooks published by NHK, while others were

 related to history and politics. Witnessing such a man of

 learning, I sincerely hope that I, too, can continue learning

 English with the same passion and perseverance throughout

 my life.
