ルーム・トゥ・リードの創設者であるジョン・ウッドが、9月に来日することが決定しました。3月の東日本大震災により4月の来日予定は延期となりましたが、ジョンは「一刻も早く日本に行きたい」と希望しており、今回の来日が実現しました。１年半ぶりに来日するジョン・ウッドと一緒にビールを飲みませんか？
震災以降、ドリンク1杯が本1冊の寄付になるBeers for Booksの開催を控えておりましたが、今回はスリランカの子ども達に、現地語の書籍を贈るために開催します。スリランカは2004年に大きな津波被害にあっており、東北の震災・津波被害に対してもすぐに温かな支援の手を差し伸べてしてくれました。このBeers for Booksはスリランカの人々への感謝の気持ちを込めての開催となります。

Please mark your calendar and plan to join us for a VERY special Beers for Books event with Room to Read founder John Wood on Tuesday, September 13th at the 800 person-capacity Warehouse 702 in Azabu-Juban.
We’ve not had a regular B4B in Tokyo since the earthquake and this one will be in support of Room to Read’s local language publishing program in Sri Lanka as a way of saying “thank you” to the people of Sri Lanka for their kind support following the quake.
