昨日はイケアの創業社長さんの伝記を紹介したので、
今日もスウェーデンの小説を紹介します。
The story is full of tons of political black jokes.
It starts with a life of an ordinary man originally from Sweden;
later he goes to many countries - Spain, USA, China, Russia, North Korea, Indonesia, and France,
as he is a genius bomb maker, and some political leaders try to work with (which means utilize) him.
Some jokes were too ironical that I couldn't laugh them off,
especially the ones on the creation of the atomic bomb,
and I didn't like that some unimportant people die too easily.
Other than that, you can enjoy reading famous historical characters' comical allegories,
along with true episodes which happened during the 20th century.
Especially, I learned quite a lot about postwar Indonesian history
and the religious circumstances in Sweden.
かつて、爆弾作りの天才だった100歳のおじいさんが、
老人ホームを脱出して世界一周をするという、ユーモラス世界一周コメディ小説です。
かなり際どい政治ブラックジョークに、笑って良いのか迷うエピソードが多数。
特に、原子爆弾周辺のエピソードは、日本人として全く笑えません。
しかし、20世紀の主要なおもしろ政治的エピソード
（実話と作り話が上手く混ざっています）を読みながら、
歴史をざっくり復習できるという意味では役に立つ本です。
特に、戦後インドネシア史と、スウェーデンのキリスト教の状況については、勉強になりました。
でも、この本、原作者がスウェーデンの方なので、英語で読む必要なし。
日本語訳の本の方が、フリガナなどをふっていて親切なので、
分かりやすいのではないでしょうか。
スウェーデン語の地名がそのまま書かれているので、発音が全くわからないのと、
中国語のスペリングが公式中国語のピンインと違うので、
勘が悪い私はJian Jie Shikが蒋介石のことで、
Ku min tanが国民党のことだと察知するまでに5ページくらいかかりました･･･
スウェーデンの方には、そう聞こえるんでしょうね。
ちなみに、共産党は普通にCommunist Partyと英語表記で書かれています。
個人的には、聖書の黙示録の最後に
"And then, they lived happily ever after."
とミスプリで書かれてしまい、その聖書は全て発禁処分になったという
しょうもないブラックジョークで笑ってしまいまいした･･･
