「せんせー、若く見えるー … シワがなかったら」Mちゃん小5。
パパが2階ででっかいくしゃみをしているよ。止まらないみたい。

The 12days of Christmas クリスマスソングを聴き取って、12枚のカード並べ。なかなか難しいぞ。
双子コーデのコーナー。
トレジョ(Trader Joe’s アメリカ🇺🇸のスーパー)のエコバッグ。うふふ。
持ち主Mちゃん中3も、現地LAで購入とのこと。

この時期に、キャッツ講師陣を中心に一大イベントに取り組みました。
長女がJICA青年海外協力隊で、岩手県の地域活動に3ヶ月参加。
その仕事の一つに、遠野物語(昔話)の英語翻訳がありました。
博物館に展示してある遠野物語を外国人が楽しめるように、という企画。
結構な量のため、ボランティアを募ったところ、
教室の講師さん14人、社会人生徒さん1人、イングリッシュチャット仲間2人、英語好きママ友1人、
高校の友達のLAに40年暮らすお兄さん、長女、次女、次女の彼氏、
合計23人の有志によって、遠野物語英語翻訳、完成いたしました

One rainy night, when a tiger came to attack the feeded horse, a tiger heard the voice "The scarist thing for us is not tigers but Furuya no mori,".
A tiger was suprised to hear that because he didn't know the existence of monster scarier than him and ran away.
Then the hidden horse thief thought the horse came out, and jumped on the tiger.
The tiger thought Furuya No Mori jumped at him, so he shook down the thief into a hole.
The monkey heard this story and he dropped his tail inside a hole to confirm the monster.
The horse thief tried to climb up using the monkey's tail.
The startled monkey blushed and tried to escape desperately .
Then the monkey and the horse thief pulled the tail with each other and the tail was torn off
That's why monkeys have red faces and short tails even now
This story tells the reason why monkeys have red faces and short tails using the same way to "Shio fuki Usu"why it happened
Furuya no mori means a leaky old house.
You enjoy this story , especially the point that the animal that is scary for others misunderstood the words and on the contrary , the animal itself is scared.
It is said that there was a story similar to this in ancient India, and it came to Japan through China.
In Tono, it seems that a wolf and a person dealing in horses (bakuro) were used in the story to make it easy to understand, because they were familiar with people there.
