Since I'm in textile design major I needed to choose one discipline out of 5 disciplines.
such as...
Print(screen printing)
Digital printing
Weaving
Knitting
Stitch
In my school, there are no disciplines or specialization, so I have studied pretty much all of them.
Only stitch is the one we don't do.I was thinking to take something I can't study in my school.
When I saw the facility, I felt like screen print studio is small and there are not much computers for students for digital printing. I've already took 4 or 5 courses of screen printing and same for digital printing. However, weaving studio has some looms that my school don't have. I thought knitting would be nice too, but I have more interest in home furnishing so decided to take weaving as my discipline. I did not see so much point of taking stitch, since it was more fine art type of approach to fabric. I think it is interesting but I like bit more traditional type of approach to textiles.
I'm excited to weave more here in London!
