以前も書きましたが、当社ではコンピューターによる強度解析を行っていません。
Although we wrote previously, strength analysis by computer is not done at our company.
なぜならば、デザイナーである山本の持つノウハウを使い設計する事により、コンピューターで解析するよりも軽量、高剛性な製品を開発する事ができるからです。
Because it is possible to develop products that are lighter and more rigid than analyzing with a computer by designing using the designer Yamamoto's expertise.

しかし、予想外の事態が発生する事があります。
However, an unexpected situation may occur.
実績のある断面形状を採用したにも関わらず、クラックが発生する事があるのです。
Despite adopting a proven cross section shape, cracks sometimes occur.

こんな開発事案がありました。
There was such a development case.
あるサイズの開発設定重量は4.5kg以下。もちろんJWL・VIA強度規格の120％UPの試験条件をクリアする事が最低条件です。
The target weight of a certain size is 4.5 kg or less. Of course, it is the minimum condition to clear the test condition of 120% UP of JWL · VIA strength standard.
最初に試作したテスト用ホイールの重量はジャスト4.5kg。
The weight of the test wheel that was prototyped first was just 4.5 kg.
工場による３D FEM解析による判定はNGでしたが、私にはパスする自信がありました。
Decision by factory's 3D FEM analysis was not good, but I thought that I would pass.
しかし、残念ながら試験終了後のクラックチェックでNGとなってしまいました。
However, unfortunately it became NG by crack check after the exam.
このことは大変ショックでしたが、ここから原因を探り対策を考えなければいけません。立ち止まることが許されないのはプロフェッショナルであれば、どの業界でも同じです。
This was a very shocking thing, but we need to explore the cause from here and think about measures. We are not allowed to stop, as an expert, in any industry.
詳しくは（当社のノウハウがある為）書けませんが、様々な考察の末にある原因の仮説を立てました。
Details (thanks to our know-how) I can not write it, but I hypothesized the cause at the end of various considerations.
そして、その対策を自らの「脳」によって解析し、考えます。次の失敗は許されません。何故ならこれ以上、顧客の販売戦略に支障をきたし、開発の為のコストを増やすわけにはいかないからです。
Then, we analyze and think about the countermeasure by our own "brain". The next failure is not allowed. This is because it will be impossible to further increase the cost for development because it will interfere with the customer's sales strategy any further.
私は、この「脳による解析」を何十回も何百回も繰り返しました。寝ている間も夢の中で「脳による解析」を行っていました w
I repeated this "brain analysis" tens of times and hundreds of times. While I was asleep I was "analyzing by the brain" in my dream.w
その結果、次の試作用ホイールが出来上がりました。重量は前回よりも100g軽い4.4㎏。コンピューターによるFEM解析では今回もNGなので、強度テストに落ちれば費用は当社の責任となります。
As a result, the next test wheel was completed. It is 100 grams lighter than last time, weight is 4.4 kilos. Since it is also NG even with FEM analysis by computer this time, we will bear the cost of strength test NG.
さて、その結果は・・・合格でした。
Well, the result was ... passed.
1度テストに落ちたものの、さらに軽量化ができ、2回目に合格できたことは、プロフェッショナルの仕事として面目躍如です。
Although it fell to the test once, we were able to lighter weight, and it was exciting as a professional job to be able to pass the second time.
