In the cockpit of this airplane, Manfred von Richthofen achieved three confirmed aerial victories between March 12th and 18th. Later, the aircraft received an overall red scheme with the straight black crosses within large white fields. In this guise, the aircraft rested in the collection of Berlin's Zeughaus Museum until its destruction during Second World War bombing raids.
