Social welfare is one of the main pillars of our society to aid vulnerable persons or groups to minimize unfairness in society. I believe that social welfare programs help mitigate disparity in society for the following three reasons.

Firstly, social security services play a pivotal role in helping fill the gap between the needy and the wealthy people. In Japan, for example, there is a safety net for those who are suffering from dire poverty by providing welfare allowances. That benefit allows them to lead to a minimum life in order to overcome their plight.

Secondly, social welfare programs contribute to mitigating educational inequality between the wealthy family and the poor. Many North European countries, for instance, have extensive education systems that allow every citizen to receive education from elementary school to university for free under the social welfare system without the economic circumstances of their families.

Finally, social welfare programs play a crucial role in maintaining our healthcare for every citizen regardless of the rich and the poor. In Japan, for example, there is a mandatory national healthcare system to which everyone is entitled and covers 70% to 90% depending on age or income. That system achieves equal access to medical services for everyone in the country.

In conclusion, for these three reasons, providing financial support for needy people, education for free, and an equal healthcare system, I firmly believe that social welfare systems help alleviate inequality in society.
