今年の沖縄慰霊の日に発表された高校生の詩は詰まるところ、次のように詠っていた。「いつまで戦争のない世界を祈り続けたらいいのか？ 私たちの祈りがまだ十分でないというのなら、もっともっと祈り続けよう！」 実は、若者の大人たちに対する苛立たしい糾弾の声である。 ところで、「戦争はやっちゃいかん」という古老の回想をよく聞く。これって甘すぎないだろうか。 私は思う、戦争の是非を論じるのは愚かであると。だって戦争は絶対悪であるのだから。
A high school student's poem published on Okinawa Memorial Day this year reads in brief as follows: How much more should we pray for a world without war? If our prayer is not enough, let us pray more and more! It is, in fact, an angry cry about today's world from a young man who was born and raised there. We often hear the reminder of the old saying, "We shouldn't start a war. " Isn't this too naive? I believe it is foolish to discuss the pros and cons of war. War is nothing but an absolute evil.
