ひ~くんの英語よもやま話=299=（ 美術館へ行きました！）

一昨日、周南市美術館へ行きました。 妻くんと一緒に行きました。 私たちの友人である、TKさんが作品を展示しているアマチュアの水彩画をたのしむグループの展示会でした。 今回は同館で二年ぶりの開催でした。 ちょうどいい目線の高さに、横一列に、170点の大作、力作、労作、佳作が並んでいました。 緻密に描いているもの、 軽いタッチで描いているもの、 淡々と日常を描いているもの などなど作者たちの個性豊かな作品ぞろいでした。 いったい何を描いているのだろうと考えさせられるような抽象的な作品がまったくありませんでした。 小生は、絵画・彫像でも、短歌・俳句でも、あるいは映画・映像でも、わかりやすい作風の方が好きです。 芸術を鑑賞するときに、自分のエネルギーを費やしていたのでは、楽しめないからです。 聞くところによると、このグループを指導される先生は、生徒さんたちの描き方に口出しされることは、皆無で、心のままに自由に描くことを大切にされているそうです。 お陰でとても素敵な時間を過ごすことができました。
The day before yesterday, I went to the Shunan City Art Museum. I went with my wife. It was an exhibition of a group of amateur watercolor painters, some of whose works were on display by our friend Ms. TK. This was the first time in two years that the event was held at the museum. Just at the right eye level, in a horizontal line, were 170 large, powerful, laborious, and decent works. The works were rich in individuality: some were detailed, some had a light touch, and others depicted everyday life in a light-hearted way. There were no abstract works at all that made me wonder what in the world they were painting. I prefer easy-to-understand styles in paintings and sculptures, tanka and haiku, and movies and images. Because if I spend my energy trying to appreciate the art, I will not be able to enjoy it and myself. I heard that the leader of the group never tries to interfere with the painting style of his students, but rather allows them to paint freely and to their heart's content. Thanks to the event we had a very nice time.
俳句をわかりやすく鑑賞するために、俳句に付帯する情報・背景情報を加えることを原則にしたらいいと思う。 いく様にも解釈でき、なかには作者の作意をはるかに越えた深読みがなされていることがしばしばだ。そんな馬鹿なことがあっていいのだろうか。 伝統も固執すると因習になる。
映画「君たちはどう生きるか」が最優秀アニメーションを昨年末受賞したと聞いたが、小生にはストーリーがさっぱり分からなかった。 ぼくの頭は難しい講釈(wordy instruction)のいる話には耐えられない。
今日は一面灰色の空から間断なく雨が音を立てて降っています。 寒暖計は15℃位を示していますが、とても寒々とした窓外の風景です。この前出会った動物園の動物たちはこんな時、どうしているのかな?
