毎年8月19日は国連が定めた世界人道の日(World Humanitarian Day)です。8月19日の国連イラク・バグダッド本部爆破事件にちなんで定められました。

2012年、国連は米国の著名なシンガー、ビヨンセと共に、"I WAS HERE" - 全世界で10億人が人の役に立つことを目指したキャンペーンを展開します。
