フランスで、酷いことが起こったでしょ、それに対するデモが大規模すぎて、びっくり。うちの職場で、「なんで、フランス人ってあんなに熱いんだ？」と話題になった。俺は、フランス人に友人がいるので、なんとなくわかるが、政治的な話が好きなんだよね。フランス人って。その彼から、新年のあいさつが来たから、その返事に、パリでの酷いことに対するお悔やみを書いてみたら、返事が来た。
Many thanks for your message. True to say that we have been shocked by the terrorist acts in Paris area. On the other hand it is comforting to see the people reaction nearly 4 million persons demonstrated in the cities under the French motto " liberty - equality - brotherhood " with strong support from world nations. This show that in a context where people suffer from economical decline , the fundamental human values for democracy & solidarity remain !
って、ことで、フランス人は、「自由、平等、兄弟愛（地域の結束？）」がモットーなんだと。そういう意味では、愛国心というか、自分たちの権利を守るというか、主張するのに、ためらいがなく行動に移せるようだ。
ま、日本人にはなじみがないんだろうけど、俺自身はすごく好感が持てる文化というか民族性だなと思うな。
今年、パリには行けるかな？？行きたいなあ。
