ホッケンミー
シンガポール風焼きそば
ミーは、麺のこと
シンガポールの屋台の人気メニューです。
Hokkien Mee, meaning Fujian style fried noodles.
It’s one of the specialties in Singapore.
私も大好きで、ホーカーでよく食べてた。
あ、ホーカーは、あちら式の固定屋台のことです。
I love it, I used to eat it a lot at hawkers there.
Hawkers are fixed food stalls common in the country.
開けてみると こんな感じ
あらま、きれい。
Let’s see...
Wow. It looks so pretty.
It is supposed to be more messy, though.
混ぜます。
Let’s mix well.
あ、近い近い。
It’s coming closer.
It needs some more mixing.
もっと混ぜます。
あー、これこれ、この感じ。
チリソースが飛び散ってる感じが、また、
ホーカー飯の雰囲気出してる。
So this is it.
And the chili sauce all around makes it look more like the real hawker food.
一口食べて、
ん？辛くない。
なんか、足すべき？
At first it doesn’t taste so hot.
You might feel like adding some hot sauce, say chili sauce?
と思ったら
あとからだんだんきいてくる。
結構きます。
But then it gradually gets hotter and spicier.
It’s actually quite spicy.
独特の香り というか、くさみ、というか。
かなり良く再現してある。
In total it is a wonderful reproduction of the authentic traditional taste.
これでワンコインは、
大したものだと思う。
Amazing it is available for only around ¥500 at a convenience store nearby.
はっきり言いますが、
日本のシンガポール料理屋さんって
どこもイマイチなんだよねー…
There are several places serving what they call Singaporean foods in Japan.
But to be frank, most of them are actually far from satisfactory.
This one coin meal by Seven Eleven is probably better, I’d say.
It is really worth trying.

コンビニで、ワンコインでこの味は、
すごい❗️

PS far from satisfactory とは？
満足いかない、イマイチ という表現です。
Far は、遠く
Satisfactory は、満足度
つまり満足に程遠い という意味です。
