週末 二人 鉄板焼きをしました。
Hi there!
My husband and I had teppanyaki dinner last weekend.
子供達が小さい時はよく出していた鉄板プレート
出したの、何年ぶり❓
We used to have one quite often when our children were still small.
But ever since then, we haven’t even used the teppanyaki plate for years.
鍋はよくやるけど
鉄板焼きって二人じゃないよね〜…
It’s more for a big family.
It doesn’t seem to be a thing for a couple well into fifties like us.
That’s what I thought.
って思ってたけど やれば出来た(笑)
But now I think differently.
It’s also quite enjoyable for two.
I’m glad I did not throw it away.

So these are what I prepared for dinner.
ちょっと奮発して、高めの焼肉セット
For this special occasion, I lavished on high class beef.
これ、切り分けながら食べたら、めちゃくちゃ美味かった❗️
We particularly liked this steak cut meat.
We cut it in small pieces and cooked on the plate at a time.
It was great.
And the seafood as well.
たまたまサザエが特売だったので。
サザエ、旦那の大好物なんです。
That day the turban shells were on special sale, which are actually my husband’s favorite.
野菜もたくさん食べましょ
It was very nice and fresh.
海老は、刺身にもできる新鮮なものだったので
少し刺身にしてみました。
甘くて美味しい〜❗️
農家さんの枝豆と
とっておいたさいごのとうもろこし
Fresh edamame and cobs from the farmer’s.

即席でキムチも作りました。
二人で、鉄板焼きなんて、ないよね〜、
って思ってたけど、
やったら意外といいじゃん
要は、少量で ゆっくりのんびり、
やればいいのよね。
At first I though it a little too heavy for two of us, but on the contrary.
The thing is, to enjoy the dinner slowly, little by little.
I find it so much fun now.
Above all, it’s very easy to prepare too!
二人鉄板焼き いいじゃん？
ていうか、用意が楽だし、
これからちょくちょく やろうか？
We should do that more often, don’t you think?
なんて言いながら
ワクワク焼いていたら
As we were enjoying the dinner, there went a sudden sound beeping.
突然 アラーム音が❗️
The fire alarm got activated because of the smoke in the room.
換気が足りなかったみたいで
火災報知器が反応❗️
火事です。 火事です。
となり始めてしまった❗️
Fire! Fire!
The sound started alerting.
慌てて家中の窓を開けて換気
なんとか ディナー続行しました。
いやー、びっくりした〜
We ran to the windows, opened them all, and managed to continue having the dinner somehow.
Gee, that gave me a real fright.

The night’s best was...
Turban shell.
めっちゃ新鮮で全然臭みがない❗️
It is so fresh that doesn’t smell like a shell at all.
肝をうまく取るのが難しいんだけど…
Taking out the guts is rather difficult...
But look!

うまく取れました❗️
Yes! I made it!
I feel great with a sense of achievement.
気持ちいい〜❗️達成感あるわ、これ。
肝まで ぺろっと食べられました。
はっきり言って そこらの海の家で食べるより美味かった❗️
I am usually not so keen on the guts, but it was so delicious that I liked it so much.
They are definitely much better than those often served at a beach house.
