勝浦までドライブしました。

How was your weekend?
We went for a drive to Katsu Ura to do shopping at the famous morning market there.
It’s said to be one of the three biggest markets in Japan, aside Wajima and Takayama.
勝浦の朝市へ
勝浦朝市は、能登輪島、飛騨高山と並ぶ、
日本三大朝市なんですって。
As it was already around ten when we got there, almost the closing time, it wasn’t so crowded.
10時頃 もう、そろそろ店じまいだったから、
空いてました。
ゆっくり 見て回れました。
That was actually good for us.
We could walk around easily with our dog, 志朗.

野菜や乾物もいろいろ売ってました。
サバの一夜干し
The vegetables are amazingly cheap!

大根の漬物 ¥200
味見させてもらったら、
めっちゃうまくて、即ゲット❗️
This pickled daikon was so delicious that I decided to buy one right away.
手作りの豆餅 ¥400
美味そう〜❗️まだ、柔らかいんだよ、これ。
Hand made rice cake.
It is still soft.
Mm, it must be really tasty.
干し柿 ¥300
これもめちゃくちゃ美味かった❗️
こういうとこ来ると、
試食ばっかりしちゃうよね。
I tried this dried persimmon too.
In a place like this, I can’t just pass by without trying samples.
干し椎茸 ¥500
勝浦の原木椎茸です。
These Tsukudani was also very nice.
佃煮も 美味しかった。
茎わかめとマグロで ¥1600
時雨煮は、くじ引きでおまけ
おじさんの熱弁に ついついまた、試食
ほんとに 食べてばっか。
Gee, we keep eating all the time!
さあ、帰ろうかってところで
As we were about to leave, we were asked by a sales clerk, to try some of this dried mackerel, so called 灰干し, which is specially processed in ash.

The guy enthusiastically recommended the item to us, and it was, to be honest quite good.
これがまた美味くてね〜❗️
確かに普通の干物とは別物の美味さ
It’s completely different from ordinary dried fish.
のせられて二本購入。
So we were talked into buying a couple in the end.
実は、勝浦朝市 初めて
野菜も海産物も、安くていいもんがいっぱいですね。
It was actually our first time to visit the morning market in Katsu Ura.
We were delighted with so many different kinds of vegetables and seafoods in high quality at reasonable prices.
We had a lot of fun.
Also, we are glad that 志朗 was very popular among people at the market.
PS 店じまい 終業時間 を英語でいうと？
Closing time です。
逆に 開店時間 始業時間は
Opening time です。

Opening time is 9:00a.m.
Closing time is 8:00p.m.
