Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter

Welcome to a Digital Camera Battery specialist of the Toshiba Ac Adapter

Apple has put a lot of emphasis on its Thunderbolt technology and some of you may have felt you had a lack of ports on your later MacBook Airs and Pros as a result of this. However we can now tell you that a Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter is now available from the Apple Store.

This news should please many people who now have the Thunderbolt standard on their Macs as it will offer users the older FireWire 800 port for audio devices and more. The small and compact Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter was announced at WWDC back in June and has just arrived in stock at the Apple Store priced at $29 and providing up to 7W of power for hard drives and other peripherals.

News of the Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter now being available came to us from The Verge who later updated its post to say that rather mysteriously the adapter had been pulled from the Apple Store. However we’ve just checked and it certainly appears to be back in the Apple Store again with shipping between 1 and 3 days. You can purchase it from this product page link and it’s compatible with Macs running OS X 10.7.4 or later.

The first conclusion to draw from that table is that the current crop of Windows 7-powered Ultrabooks do a very good job in terms of battery such as Toshiba ACC10H Ac Adapter , Toshiba PA2438U Ac Adapter , Toshiba PA2500U Ac Adapter , Toshiba Portege 4000 Ac Adapter , Toshiba Satellite A10 Ac Adapter , Toshiba Tecra A1 Ac Adapter , Toshiba Satellite R15 Ac Adapter , Toshiba Satellite A100 Ac Adapter , Toshiba Tecra 8000 Ac Adapter , Toshiba Satellite 1405 Ac Adapter , Toshiba Satellite 5205 Ac Adapter , Toshiba Satellite 2800 Ac Adapter life. For now, at least, Apple is the one playing catch-up.

As you can see, the 2012 MacBook Air running OS X gets very good battery life, although three Windows-powered Ultrabooks (including two Samsungs) outlast it by 7-14%.

The 2011 MacBook Air running OS X is literally in the middle of the pack, with eight current Windows-powered Ultrabooks able to outlast it. The best performer, the 2012 13-inch Samsung Series 9, can run for 90 minutes longer on Windows 7 than a year-old MacBook Air running OS X.

But the really interesting figure for me is how poorly those MacBook Airs do when running Windows 7 under Boot Camp.

The 2012 MacBook Air, which is near the top of the heap running OS X, delivers pitiful battery life on Windows 7. The difference is more than two hours of productivity: 6:34 on OS X, 4:28 on Windows.
