Wire and cable not only have a wide variety of products, but also have many types of conductors. The following 7 types are commonly used:
Conductor, wire: The component in the cable that has the specific function of conducting current.
Solid conductor, practice wire: a conductor made of a round wire or a shaped wire.
Single conductor: a conductor of a single wire or multiple metal wires that is not covered with other metal layers.
Metal-plated conductors: 600V Overhead Aerial cable 54.6m㎡ with thin layers of different metals or alloys plated on the surface.
Tin-plated conductor: a tin-plated conductor.
Metal-clad conductor: a conductor composed of a metal as an internal component and metallurgical processing (welding) coated with another metal as an external component.
Concentric stranded round conductor: A stranded conductor in which multiple single wires are twisted into one or more concentric layers in a spiral shape. Usually, adjacent layers are twisted in opposite directions.
Bundled conductor, bundled wire: a conductor formed by spirally bundled multiple single wires in the same direction and at the same pitch.
Multi-stranded conductor: one or more layers of conductors (cores) composed of several strands twisted together. Each strand in the conductor (core) can be concentrically twisted or bundled.
Hollow conductor: a conductor with a central channel.
Split conductor: a conductor composed of stranded wires with a thin layer of insulation between each other.
Flat conductor: a conductor whose cross-sectional shape is nearly flat.
URD 1100 MCM Aluminum Cable a stranded conductor composed of round wires with a sufficiently small diameter, suitable for flexible cables.
Tightened conductor: A stranded conductor that is compressed or stretched mechanically, or appropriately selected the shape and configuration of a single wire, to reduce the twisting gap.
Concentric conductor: A conductor wrapped around one or several insulated cores.
Copper sheathed wire: a fiber core is spirally wrapped with one or several layers of thin copper tape to form a component, and then a conductor formed by twisting one or several components.
