Ben has been involved with England for a number of seasons and only injury denied him the chance to turn out at last summer’s U17 World Cup. Last played for England in March 2007 as England beat Serbia to reach the European Championship. Highly regarded both by club and country.

Club: Middlesbrough
Jason is a highly rated goalkeeper who excels in most departments, particularly his distribution. After making his debut against China in April 2006, the Middlesbrough stopper played ten times at U17 level, including all five European Championship games. Went to the U17 World Cup in Korea last summer and was in the U19s squad last season, culminating in a trip to the European Championship finals in the Czech Republic.

Formerly capped at U18 level, Alex is a highly regarded goalkeeper at Huddersfield Town where he was first called into the senior team squad in September 2007 and has made two League appearances for the Terriers whilst still learning his trade.

Club: Fulham
Matthew became the youngest player to have ever featured in the Premier League at just 16 years and 65 days old when he came on as a substitute for Fulham against Middlesbrough in May 2007.

Spent time as a junior with Wimbledon and Arsenal before joining Crystal Palace where he made his first-team debut last season aged just 17. A left-back, although comfortable in midfield too, Lee scored his first senior goal for Palace against Bristol City in February and was included in the England U18s squad for the game against Austria at Hartlepool.

Arsenal defender Gavin is normally deployed at centre-half but can also play at full-back - versatility which will please Head Coach Brian Eastick. The younger brother of former Under-21 international and Middlesbrough ace Justin, Gavin is strong in the tackle and good in the air. One of the quickest players at Arsenal.

Club: Leicester City
A strong and sturdy left-back, Mattock was a regular in the U19s last season and was part of the squad which went to the European Championship finals in the Czech Republic in July. He has also won four England Under-21 caps. Injury has seen him miss all of the U19 games so far this season though.

Affectionately known as ‘Chief’, Krystian was part of the U19 squad for the European Championship in July where he played in all three of the games. Currently on loan to Scunthorpe United, where he will be hoping to get more first team experience following spells with Notts County and Port Vale last season.

Club: West Ham United
Jordan has been talismanic since making his debut for England U16s. After leading The Three Lions to the Victory Shield in 2005, the West Ham defender was captain as England reached the Final of the European Championship in Belgium and he then skippered the side in the U17 World Cup in Korea, where he scored against Brazil. He has previously played for the U19s and U18s as well.

The right-back’s fine form for Manchester City last season resulted in a call-up to the U18 squad for the game with Ghana at Gillingham and he was also part of the City squad which lifted The FA Youth Cup last season. Also capable of playing in midfield, Kieran is a hard working and pacy player.

Called up to the U19 squad for the first time, this left-back has broken through to the first team squad of hometown team Leeds United this season, despite only joining the Yorkshire club as a scholar last summer after previously learning his trade in their Academy.

This big central defender is another new call-up to the squad after impressing for Liverpool Reserves and making his debut for the Anfield club in the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven in December of last year.
Midfielders
Name: Michael Woods

Club: Chelsea
The holding midfielder was part of the U17 squad which travelled to the European Championship last year and then the World Cup in Korea where he was a mainstay of the team. He was signed by Chelsea from Leeds United and has already appeared in the Blues first team in The FA Cup.

Position: Midfielder
Club: Manchester United
Danny made an immediate impression on Head Coach Brian Eastick by scoring on his debut for the U18s against Ghana at Gillingham last November. The midfielder has been with United for more than seven years and that shows as he is very comfortable with the ball at both feet and he has an excellent range of passing.

A cultured player who offers bags of creativity on the ball and a goal threat. He is particularly highly regarded at the Emirates Stadium, where he has been with the Academy since he was only nine-years-old. Never afraid of supporting the attack, Henri has been on the substitute’s bench for Arsenal in Carling Cup games last season.

Jacob was a part of the Blues team which reached the Final of last season's FA Youth Cup. He was signed by Chelsea after impressing in the junior ranks at Sheffield United. He was a regular for the England U17 team last season and for the U16 team the year before that, whilst still a Sheffield United player.

Formerly of Leeds United, Daniel is now part of the set-up at White Hart Lane and was one of the U19s’ most impressive performers at the European Championships in July. A left winger with pace and skill, he also played an important part in England's run to the European U17 Championship Final last year but injury denied him the chance to play at the U17 World Cup.

Recently made his first start for Everton, after previously making his first team debut for the club last season. Rodwell captained the England U16 team in 2006 and has also represented the U17 side too.

A versatile player who can feature across the midfield and also in defence. Jay was involved with the U18 squad last season and impressed in the 2-0 win against Ghana last November and again against the Netherlands in September 2008.

A forward thinking midfield player who played a crucial role in Manchester City’s FA Youth Cup success last season. This is his first international call-up, after impressing for the Blues this season. A player who likes to break from midfield and support the attack.

The versatile midfielder will be hoping to help the Young Lions to a second successive European U19 Championship Finals this year, after being part of the squad which travelled to Czech Republic last time around. Capable of playing in a defensive midfield role, or further forward, the former Plymouth Argyle player likes to get his foot on the ball and show his range of passing.

This left sided ace has hit the headlines this season after breaking through to the Arsenal first team. Should he be involved tonight, this will be Jack’s first taste of football with the U19s after previously featuring with the U17 team this season. A hard working and technically gifted player, Jack is highly rated at the Emirates Stadium by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

A prolific goalscorer in the Academy and Reserve teams for Villa, the Birmingham-born striker has played for the Young Lions at both U16 and U17 level and has been included in the first team squad by Villa manager Martin O'Neill in the past.

Position: Forward
Club: Colchester United
Medy has won caps for his country at both U17 and U18 level, with the last coming against Austria in April. He made his debut in a 1-0 win against Portugal in the Algarve Tournament last year and made two appearances in the U17 World Cup against New Zealand and Germany.

Club: Middlesbrough
A powerful forward with pace and skill, Jonathan was a permanent fixture during his first year with England in the U16 age group. He figured again at U17 level and was part of the squad which reached the final of the European Championship and then caught the eye during the U17 World Cup in Korea.

With pace and power, Victor is a handful for any defence. Throw in his eye for goal and here is a talented young player. He was on target during the U17 European Championship and World Cup for the U17s last year. He has been a first team regular at Selhurst Park for the last 12 months and was part of the U19s squad which reached the European Championship in July.

Daniel made his Young Lions debut against Wales at U16 level and was a key component in England's run to the European Championship finals and World Cup, where he scored twice against New Zealand. He was forced to withdraw from the U19s squad for July’s European Championship but is now back and firing on all cylinders. Featured on United’s bench in last season’s Champions League game with Barcelona.

A strong centre forward with bags of pace and energy. Murphy was part of the England U17 squad which enjoyed success in the European Championship and then the World Cup. He was largely frustrated by injuries last year which restricted his appearances for club and country.
Name: Ashley Chambers

Club: Leicester City
Called up to the U19 squad for the first time tonight, but this lively striker has previously been capped at U16, U17 and U18 level. He scored a hat-trick on his U17 debut against the Faroe Islands in the 2005 Nordic Tournament. Later that year, he made history when he became the youngest ever player to play for Leicester City aged just 15 years and 203 days.

This striker has already made a number of Premier League appearances for Sunderland and spent time on loan with Charlton Athletic earlier this season. A product of the Sunderland Academy, after previously being a Manchester United Centre of Excellence scholar.
