The most famous family(徳川宗家・徳川恒孝様） descendant made his international audiences excited and think how edo's peace and stability established by his speech.

I was one of the audience.

He is the author of the 'Edo Inheritance'.

His emphasis was 3 points as below.

I am going to write down these spilitly mixed with my opinions.

1, national badget for war

During the civil war lasted almost 150 years, the war cost was 7 times as Edo era.

After Ieyasu establised his shogunate, this cost was heavily diminished due to his overwhelming power to the other feudal loads.

In a word, Tokugawa Ieyasu was so powerful that other feudal loads couldn't resist .

Even the Maeda Family's power was one seventh of Tokugawa Shogunate.

So, that may be the key factor for the lasting stability for 265 years.

Nobody could make combats for the Tokugawa.

That surperb authority made unity, obeidence throughout Japan.

Then finally, farmers could concentrate on their farming tasks without any worries of invasion. Resultedly, national growth products was higher than ever.

This allow people take education. At the end of the era, many foreign people were surprised to see how Japanese people were well educated including commoneres and females.

This high consiousnesses made people have curiosity for the other civilization like western one, Mr.Tokugawa said.
