emulate は、テキストの「Words & Phrases」には載っていなかったのですが、私はピンと来なくて辞書を調べました。ふ～ん
と思いながら、ラジ子さんのブログ
におじゃますると・・・「見習う、まねる」という意味の中に「負けないよう、はりあう」といったニュアンスが入っているという説明。なるほどね～。楽しい例文つきです
