On the last Saturday, we took a part in a Ainu's ritual named Sinnurappa.

Ekasi is painting sacred sake on Inau with ikupasui.
We do not have to enter to the back of this screen.
Since there are gods here.

シンヌラッパは先祖供養のための儀式で、毎年10月に開かれるのだそうです。
Sinnurappa is a ritual for their ancestors memorial service, and it seems to be held in every December.

左 left：
次世代エカシのような貫禄たっぷりのＨさんが着ているのはカパラミプ。
It's Kaparamip that H san wears.
He has dignified presence like a next-generation Ekasi.
中央 center：
大学の先生のようにアイヌ語を語るＳさんが着ているのはチヂリ。
It's Chijiri that S san wears.
He talks about Ainu language like a professor.
右 right：
なぜ「初級」なのかわからないくらいアイヌ語を知り尽くしたＩさんが着ているのはチカルカルペ。
It's Chikarkarpe that I san wears.
He knows Ainu language much so as not to think with the novice class
もう一人、ルウンペを着ていたＨさんが見つからず… 惜しいことをしました。
Then I could not find the other one, H san who wore Ruunpe...
ようちゃんも儀式に参加させてもらいました。
しかし捧げ物の直前に止められました。
そして別のオッカヨ（男性）グループに移動。
最初に入っていたのはメノコ（女性）のグループ。
Yo chan also joined the ritual.
But he was stopped before making an offering.
And he moved to another okkayo (male) group.
The first group was for menoko (female).
エカシは「ナニ、お姉ちゃんじゃなかったのかい！？」
"Oh, aren't you a girl ?!", Ekasi said.
※エカシ = 長老
ekasi = old man, a leader of kotan (village)
そうなんです。
ようちゃんは女子に間違えられて、女性の儀式をやっちまいそうだったのでした。
He was mistaken for a girl, and going to almost hold the ritual for woman.
すごいハンサムでした。
※彼はようちゃんではありません。
He was a very handsome boy.
※He is not Yo chan (my son).
お母さまが刺繍したチカルカルペ。
His mother embroidered this Chikarkarpe.

私は中腰で皆さんの背中をつけ回す怪しいオバサン。
見たこともない文様。
色遣い、そして素材。
刺繍には針子の工夫がたくさん見られます。
I was suspiciously to follow about the back of everybody with half sitting.

このシンヌラッパは北大の遺跡保存庭園で行われました。
北大構内にはアイヌの竪穴式住居跡があるんです。
This Sinnurappa was held in the Remains Preservation Garden of Hokkaido University.
There is a remain of Ainu's pit dwelling house in Hokkaido University campus.
