I intended to experience the traditional method of Ainu embroidery that is not used now.
黄色いのが糸印。

紋様の見本を見ながら糸で紋様の下描きをします。
この線の上を刺繍してゆくのです。
この線をアイヌ語でイエシンニヌ（筋つけ）と言います。

この場所に野球場（ドーム）を建設する計画があります。
最有力候補は北広島市ですが、北大キャンパスもまだ候補に残っています。
つまりここは潰されてしまうかもしれません。
大学内に反対意見があまり出てこないそうです。
A plan to build a baseball ground (dome) on this place happens.
The leading candidate is Kitahiroshima city, but the Hokkaido University campus is still left as one of candidates, too.

大切な研究施設のはずです。
北海道の農業はさらに効率化の必要に迫られていて、そのために研究しなくてはならないことはたくさんあるはずです。
It should be an important research facility here.
The agriculture of Hokkaido needs the efficiency more.
Therefore there should be a lot of what we must study.
研究のためだけではなく、学生はもちろん市民や観光客の憩いの場でもあります。
北の大都市、札幌の中心部にあるからこその価値もあるかと思います。
北海道は農業で生きていく。
その象徴となるべき場所かと思います。
Not only for research, it is the place of recreation and relaxation for citizens and tourists not to mention students here.
I think that there is the value that it exists in the center of the northern big city Sapporo.
