I hope you are enjoying the nice weather we are having this week. It`s not as wet as I was expecting so far this wet season. Hopefully this weekend will be dry too. Last weekend I went to Shizuoka city on Saturday. We went to see an exhibition of the famous artist Yayoi Kusama at the Shizuoka Prefectural museum. She has a very famous sculpture you may have seen, of a pumpkin with black dots all around it. She has an exhibition with many paintings and sculptures, most of which are very striking images with many dots, lines and vivd colours. The artist says that she saw these images in hallucinations when she was younger. There was also an exhibit of a famous French scultor called Rodin. I have heard of his sculpture called "The Thinker" before so it was nice to see it for real. He made 28 casts of "The Thinker" on display in coutries around the world.
After the museum we went shopping in Shizuoka city, there are some very huge shopping malls there. We must have walked several kilometers around these malls! I was tired afterwards, but it was a good day out.

湿気の多いシーズンとなりましたが、私が思っていたよりはまだ湿気が多くはないように思います。
今週末は乾燥してほしいです。
先週末は、静岡市にいってきました。美術館で行われている草間彌生さんの展覧会にいってきました。
彼女は有名な彫刻家で、みなさんも彼女作品は見たことがあるかもしれません。
かぼちゃ
に黒の水玉がデザインされたものです。
彼女の書いた絵や彫刻などが数多く展示されていました。彼女の作品は、たくさんの水玉とストライプがあって、鮮明な色を使ったものが多いです。
彼女は、幼いときに幻の中でこれらのイメージが見えたといわれています
。
また、ロダンというフランスの有名な彫刻家の示会もありました。かれの作品が「考える人」という彫刻であると聞いたことがあったので、現物をみれてよかったです。かれは、世界中の国々で、２８体もの「考える人」を作ったそうです。
美術館見物をしたあとは、静岡市内で買い物
をしました。たくさん、大きなショッピングモールがありますね。
それらに行くのに、何キロも歩かされ、疲れましたが
、充実した１日でした
。
