New Zealand, north and south islands in 8 days

While we were in New Zealand, we saw a Japanese tour bus.  It said on the front of the bus "New Zealand, north and south islands in 8 days."

I couldn't believe my eyes as we were visiting only the north island and spending a month.  We had already visited the south island and spent a month there also.

Eight days traveling means six days in New Zealand as it takes one day to fly from Japan to New Zealand and another day to fly back to Japan.  When we got back to the hotel I was curious, so I went to the travel agency site and checked the itinerary.

It was surprising.  They spend most of the time on the bus, sometimes starting at 7:00am after breakfast, having a sandwich for lunch on the bus, and arriving at the next hotel at 9:00pm. They stop at a tourist site for 15 minutes, just long enough to take some photos, then move to the next site.  All six days were like that.

The travel agency says "The good point of this tour is, as it could be your lifetime trip tp New Zealand, you can visit so many places in a short time.  You can also see the beautiful views of New Zealand from the bus windows.  It is very efficient."

I think most of the people are so tired they sleep on the bus. There is no time to enjoy the view or take photos.
