I have visited Hokkaido 10 times.
It is a beautiful place. I have been there in all the seasons, I like spring the most. I like autumn too, but the greenery and the blooming flowers are great in the spring.
The last time we went there was in the spring of 2016. We were very lucky. I could take photos of tulips and shiba cherries at the same time. I don't know if the tulips were late blooming or shiba cherries were early, but it worked just fine for us.
It was a 10-day trip to the Mashu and Shiretoko areas. Onneto is also beautiful in autumn with red and yellow leaves. The colour of lake Onneto changes over time.
The previous time we had visited Shiretoko, we couldn't visit all the lakes (there are five) because of the bears. This time we still had to listen to a lecture on bears and then go with a guide. Safety comes first.
I never get bored seeing the scenery there. I'm sure we will go back in the near future.
