ラグビーのアイルランド代表と
サッカーのアイルランド代表って別だって知ってましたか
実は
サッカーのアイルランド代表はアイルランド共和国のみなのですが
ラグビーのアイルランド代表は
アイルランド共和国+北アイルランド（イギリスに属する）の
連合軍なのです。
なので、サッカーなどのアイルランド代表は試合前に
アイルランド共和国国歌「The Soldier's Song」（兵士の歌）
を歌うのですが、ラグビーではそうはいきません
U2の
Sunday Bloody Sunday（血塗られた日曜日）で有名な
血の日曜日事件で同じみなように
アイルランドと北アイルランドは宗教的な問題もあり、仲が悪いのです。
（北アイルランド内でもプロテスタント系とカトリック系がいるのです）
そのため、試合前の歌という点で問題が起きてしまいました。
北アイルランド人の選手は「The Soldier's Song」を歌わないのです
そこで出来た歌がIreland's Callです。
とても良い曲です。
ということで
Celtic ThunderというグループのIrelands Callを紹介します
（ラグビーの試合前のとは歌詞が違います）
近年出来たグループっぽいのですが
10代、20代、30代、40代の様々な世代の人達で構成されてて
かなり興味深いです。
正直踊りはいまいちだと思いますが、歌は上手いですわ
そして何より全員がめちゃめちゃ楽しそうに歌ってるのです

PG8が試合前の国歌で涙を流している選手をみたことは
今までで2人しかないのですが
その１人がアイルランドのジェリー・フラナリーという選手で
（試合中に相手に蹴りを入れたりする荒い選手ですが・・・・）
「Ireland's Call」を聞いて涙を流してます。
（右から2番目の選手です：2分35秒辺り）
