恒例行事のおもちつき機でのお餅づくり

 

私自身は面倒なので。買ってくればすむ話

だけども、毎年作ってる

 

今朝、とうとう動かなくなりました。

 

準備したもち米は赤飯?へ

 

蒸すことができた(と言ってもおこわに近い)

娘がげんこつで餅つき

 このあと、軽いやけどになってた

それをみんなでほうばることに

 

気が付けば、明日は大晦日

 

今年一年ありがとうございました

 

Making mochi with our traditional mochi-making machine has been an annual event for us.

Honestly, I find it a bit of a hassle. It would be easier to just buy it.
But still, we’ve made it every year.

This morning, the machine finally stopped working.

The prepared glutinous rice ended up becoming sekihan (red bean rice).
Well, more like sticky steamed rice, really.

My daughter tried pounding the rice with her fist instead.
Later, she ended up with a light burn on her hand.

We all enjoyed the result together anyway.

And now, I realize tomorrow is New Year’s Eve.
