事件多発
フィリピン首都圏マニラ市にある中央郵便局裏の路上で
箱詰めにされた少年(15)の遺体が見つかった。
付近を通りかかったペディキャブ（サイドカー付き自転車）の男性運転手が
箱から露出した足に気付き、首都圏警察マニラ市本部に通報した。
マニラ本部の調べでは、首に電気コードが巻き付き
さらに首周辺に刃物で刺されたような跡があった。
別の場所で殺害された後、箱詰めにされて発見現場に遺棄されたらしい。
中央郵便局周辺では
11月下旬、京都府出身の日本人男性が殺害されたばかりで
クリスマス・シーズンは、特に犯罪の多い時期ですので
くれぐれも、気をつけて下さい。
事件といえば、１万ペソ（約１万９千円）で、日本人男性の殺害を依頼したとして
男性宅近くに住むフィリピン人女性(３２)が逮捕されたが
被害者の日本人男性は、傷は負ったが、命は助かったという。

海水汚染
グリンピースなどの市民社会団体がこのほど
マニラ湾の汚染状況に関する報告書を発表した。
調査した728リットルの汚染された海水のうち
75.55％がプラスチックだったという。
また、生物分解できる廃物が2位で10.99％だった。

人骨泥棒
フィリピン ビサヤ地方西ネグロス州バコロド市内で
７月下旬、公共墓地から多量の人骨を盗んだ疑いで
フィリピン人男性２人が、国家警察に逮捕されていた。
２人組は「麻袋一つ当たり５００ペソで売るつもりだった」と供述しているという。
事件から３カ月後の10月下旬には
日本政府の戦没者遺骨収集団がネグロス島を訪れ
民間非営利団体（ＮＰＯ）の収集した遺骨を受領
日本へ持ち帰る予定だったことから、フィリピン国内で多発してきた
人骨盗難事件と遺骨収集事業の関連性を指摘する声がさらに強まりそうだ。
