爆竹による負傷者数がフィリピン全国で155人に達したと発表した。
うち13件が手、足、指などの切断を余儀なくされたという。
保健省は市民に対して、改めて爆竹の危険性を訴えている。

2011年度のフィリピン政府予算案が大統領署名経て成立しました。
年内成立は、1999年案以来、12年ぶりのことです。
After signing into law by the President to the Philippine government budget for fiscal 2011.
Enacted this year, since the draft in 1999, is 12 years.

２０１０年下半期はラモス政権以来の
カトリック教会対政府の避妊論争が巻き起こった。
８月下旬には米国の民間団体が
フィリピン国内で年間56万人の妊婦が違法な人工妊娠中絶を行っており
うち１千人が中絶が原因で死亡すると報告。
堕胎罪の規定、避妊法のアクセス整備や性教育など
リプロダクティブ・ヘルス（生と生殖に関する健康）分野での遅れが
望まない妊娠による危険な中絶をまん延させていると指摘した。
