創立400年記念イベントに向けた記者会見が開かれた。
サントトマス大学は、フィリピン最古（創立は1611年）の名門私立大学で
アジアでも最古の大学です。
独立の英雄・ホセ・リサール博士もここで医学を学びました。

ベンゲット州では近年、農薬が普及し、土地や野菜の農薬汚染が進んでおり
国際農業者交流協会などが
２００７年から、ドラム缶でココナツの皮を焼いて作る
木酢液を使った農法の普及に取り組んでいる。
ベンゲット州での農薬を極力使わない農法の普及につなげようと
国際農業者交流協会と国際協力機構（ＪＩＣＡ）が初めて企画したものです。
