25日、フィリピン南部ミンダナオ島で
反政府イスラム武装勢力と警察の特殊部隊が交戦し
警察側の少なくとも30人が死亡した。
交戦があったのは、マギンダナオ州ママサパノで
逮捕状が出ていた人物の拘束に向けて動いていた警察の特殊部隊と
銃撃戦になったという。

爆竹や銃の発砲
新年を祝う爆竹や銃の発砲での事故が相次ぐフィリピン。
フィリピン保健省のまとめでは
爆竹による事故で手足の切断にまで至った例は１４件に上り
昨年の８件から増加した。
事故の大半は、爆発力が強化された違法爆竹が原因です。
今年は、事前にフィリピン政府が警察や軍に対し
「祝砲を厳重に禁止する通達」を出したこともあり
流れ弾による事故は昨年の１１件から３件に減少。
警察は１日までに警官４人、民間警備員６人
一般の３人を、祝砲を撃ったとして逮捕した。
