２６日から５日間の日程で訪問されます。
歓迎行事などに出席して国際親善に努める一方で
太平洋戦争の犠牲者を追悼する慰霊碑を訪ねられます。

フィリピン人青年と日本のシェアハウスの住民との交流を描いた
日本テレビ制作のドラマ「ハロハロハウス」の放送が
1月16日から、フィリピンの国営放送（ＰＴＶ）で始まる。
ドラマは30分番組で全８回。毎週土日曜日の午後５時から放送される。
元ＡＫＢ48メンバーで、父が日本人、母がフィリピン人の
秋元才加さんがナビゲーターを務める。

各地で開かれた新年を祝う花火大会で、突然花火が爆発するなどの事故が相次ぎ
年末、年始にかけて合わせて３８０人が怪我をしました。
フィリピンの首都マニラで
１日未明、新年を祝う花火大会で突然爆発が起こり
観客が巻き込まれたほか、爆発による炎が近くの住宅に燃え移りました。
フィリピン当局によりますと
爆発が起きたのは、貧しい人たちが住む住宅密集地で
およそ3,000人が家を失ったということです。
地元の病院には爆発でやけどを負った人たちが次々と運び込まれている状態です。

しかし、フィリピンには未許可の銃が120万丁以上存在するとされており
新年を祝ってこれらの銃が発砲されることもある。

質の悪い花火が使われたりした事によつて
1人が死亡、200人以上が負傷したという。

騒乱行為などで5人の市民を拘束した。
