アメリカ地質調査所（ＵＳＧＳ）によると
フィリピン・ルソン島西沖の南シナ海で
１７日午前６時１８分（日本時間同７時１８分）ごろ
マグニチュード（Ｍ）６．１の地震があった。
フィリピンの災害当局によると
震源地はサンバレス州カンデリアの北西52キロ。
影響を受けた地域は、マカティ市（震度4）
ケソン市（震度3）などで
津波や人的被害は確認されていない。

フィリピンの非営利調査団体ソーシャル・ウェザー・ステーションによると
今年１～３月期のフィリピンの失業率は
前期比１０．４ポイント上昇の３４．４％となり
２００９年１～３月期の３４．２％を上回って過去最高となった。
（１８歳以上の全国１,２００人を対象に行われた)
男女別では男性が２７．６％、女性が４３％
年齢別では１８～２４歳が５５．９％で最多となるなど
女性と若年層の失業者が増加しているという。

マニラ首都圏で最大級のショッピングセンター「モールオブアジア」内に開店した。
売り場面積は約１,５５０平方メートル。
ユニクロを展開するファーストリテイリングは
フィリピンで今後３年間に５０店を出店する予定だという。
