フィリピンの首都マニラでフィリピン工科大学で
学費滞納を理由に停学処分を受けた
女子学生（１６）が
１５日に自宅で自殺したことが明らかになり
「大学当局の対応は無慈悲だ」と学内外に怒りが広がっており
学生らが机や椅子を焼き払うなどして、大学への抗議行動を行った。
学生組織は、より大規模の抗議活動を行い
「苦学生の教育を受ける権利を妨害する政策に対抗する」と宣言した。
貧困層出身者も少なくないフィリピン大では
学生が「正義を求める」として処分を下した
大学当局者の更迭を求め連日、抗議活動を展開するという。
国会議員からも
「フィリピン大は命よりカネを優先している。
貧しい社会に思いやりを示すべきだ」との批判が出ている。
