フィリピンのアキノ大統領は
26日に行った新年に向けたテレビ演説で
違法販売されている爆竹を取り締まるよう、警察当局に命じたと発表した。
国民に対して、これらの爆竹を使用しないよう促した。
フィリピン保健省によると
今月21日～26日、68人が爆竹や拳銃などの流れ弾で負傷したという。
また、フィリピン首都圏警察本部長は
年の瀬に拳銃を発砲している警察官を見かけた市民は
その様子を写真や動画に撮影して警察本部に電子メールで報告するよう、
協力を求めた。
フィリピンでは
最近、警察官が職務と無関係の場で拳銃を発砲する事件が相次いでいる。
