商船三井は
12月19日、フィリピン・ミンダナオ島を襲った
台風21号で被災した人々に義援金3万ドルを寄付すると発表した。

グループ会社を通じて寄付を実施するとともに
その他の支援活動も検討しているという

商船三井とフィリピンとの関係は深く
多数のフィリピン人船員を採用するとともに
商船三井が設立した教育施設で船員への教育を実施している。
