中国を初の公式訪問中のアキノ大統領は
8月31日、北京で胡錦濤国家主席と会談した。
経済関係強化などで９文書に合意したが
両国間で緊張が高まっている南シナ海の南沙諸島領有権問題については
平和的解決で合意したものの、具体的な対策は話し合われず棚上げとなった。
アキノ大統領は、過去最大数の財界代表団を引き連れ
中国との貿易・投資分野で関係強化にむけて
中国の財界４代表との会談、経済フォーラムに参加した。
しかし、中国の石油会社は、西フィリピン海の合同油田探査に予定した
10億ドルの投資を延期しており
南沙問題で、フィリピン側の強硬姿勢に反発していると思われる。
