What I did:
For the first stage
- In order to decide which books to buy, I used information from the Internet and the book (1).
- In order to put myself in English environment as much as possible, I listened to podcast news or sound data from the books (2-8) in my smartphone and electronic dictionary whenever possible.
- I tried past tests from the EIKEN website and the book (2).
- I memorized words in the book (3), following the method introduced in the book and inputting words, phrases, and sentences in the book (3) in MS-Excel.
- I wrote down all the essays in the book (5) and some in the books (2, 4).
For the second stage
- I input all essays or speeches which have sound data in the books (2, 4, 5, 7, 8) in MS-Word.
- I read aloud the books (2, 4, 5, 7, 8) at least three times, listening to their sound data.
- I drafted 4 speeches on topics which I hoped to be on the actual topic card of EIKEN, referring to my speech-essay database which I built in MS-Excel.
- I listened to my four essays many times, utilizing “Read aloud” function of MS-Word, and memorized them.
