As an Assistant Crew Controller, you will be part of a team in the heart of the Operation ensuring the delivery of the airline operation for Pilots and Cabin Crew. You will be the first point of contact for both the Flight Deck and Cabin crew community within TUI Airways. You will be part of the team responsible for maintaining and amending changes to the crew live rosters once the Crew Planning team have handed them over 72 hours before departure, ensuring the flying programme is maintained as efficiently as possible and complies with legal & industrial agreements. You’ll make sound decisions that ensure budgetary restrictions are met whilst giving outstanding customer service to our Crew. 

Working a shift pattern of days and night shifts covering 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, you’ll be proactive and flexible in supporting your team to accomplish tasks. Whilst this role reports into the Crewing Team Leader, Northern Region, operational direction will be provided by the TOCC Crewing Duty Manager who will be on shift 24 hours a day.

ABOUT THE JOB
 

  • You will be part of the team responsible for the Pilot and Cabin Crew Rosters from 72 hours before departure and ensuring a full and properly qualified complement of crew operate each flight
  • You’ll ensure each flight is operated in accordance with the relevant Flight Time Limitations and Industrial agreements in place at the time
  • It will be your responsibility to ensure that any Crew related delays are communicated to the relevant parties and that any issues are resolved quickly and efficiently
  • Out of hours, you will be responsible for liaison with external agencies and suppliers for any last-minute crew transport requirements
  • In the operational window (D-72hours) you will ensure the replacement of crew duties where necessary or as directed by authorised persons
  • As an Assistant Crew Controller you’ll ensure that any crew irregularities and violations are recorded and brought to the attention of the relevant department
  • Ensuring the crewing log is maintained and any significant events or incidents are recorded
  •  You’ll also will remain up to date on all legislative requirements and Company Scheduling Agreements so that this knowledge can be applied to help find creative solutions to protect the operation, ensuring our customers get away on holiday on time. You will share this knowledge, as required, to support new and existing team members in their development.
     

ABOUT YOU
 

  • Experience within a fast-paced operational environment or a customer service role
  • Experience of working with policy and or legislative agreements
  • A creative problem solver, able to consider alternatives and arrive at a logical decision
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and working under pressure in a reactive environment
  • Process and detail orientated with excellent organisational skills
  • Strong inter-personal and excellent communication skills with the ability to influence
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • An enthusiastic ambassador of change who makes suggestions for improvement
  • Experience of the Airline/Aviation industry or a keen interest in this would be highly regarded
