A lot of young students in Japan learn music using ドレミファソ etc.
みんな音楽は日本でドレミファソとかってならうよね。
Did you know those note names are almost exactly the same in English as well? Do re mi fa so la ti?
みんなこれって英語でもほぼ一緒の言い方するって知ってた？

That song is really well-known in America, I think quite a lot of kids know it without realizing it's from The Sound of Music - I almost forgot, myself!
この歌はアメリカでとても有名。多くの子供たちがこの歌がサウンドオブミュージックから来てるって知っているんじゃないかな。僕は忘れそうになってたけど。。。
Since a lot of my students here at Kids World already know how to say the notes in Japanese, it's fun to teach them how to play songs by writing down the English versions of the notes. This is also a fun way to help develop their reading speed.
キッズワールドに来てる子供たちはもうすでに♪の日本語での読み方を知ってるから、英語バージョンのしてみんなにどうやって曲を奏でるかを教えるのはとっても楽しいよ。
But there's a catch! The last note before you reach "Do" again is "shi" in Japanese, but "ti" in English. Also, Japanese "ra" is a different sound than the English "la". Sometimes the children forget this, but that's what I'm here for!
でもちょっと罠もある。罠っていうか、ちょっと難しいところね。ドの前はシだよね、でも英語ではTiになるんだよ。また、日本語の ラ は英語の La の音とちょっと違うね。時々子供たちはそれを忘れてしまう、でもだから僕が英語に直してあげられる役目をするんだけどね。。。
