モンローの墓の側にあるこのベンチは、ご存知のようにファンからの寄附により設置されました。
現在のモノは2代目で2009年に設置されました。
初代のモノは白い色のモノで1992年に設置されました。
初代のベンチが朽ちてきたので、アメリカのモンローファンクラブが主催して寄附を呼びかけ、世界中のモンローファンからの寄附で設置されました。
寄附者のなかに日本人はいないようです(//∇//)。ぼくもまだそのころは世界に目がイッてなかったので、このプロジェクトのことは知らなかったので、寄附できませんでした、知っていたら寄附してたかもしれません(゜ロ゜)
以下、アメリカのモンローファンクラブの副会長スコット・フォートナー氏のコメントです。これによりますと初代のベンチはスーザン・ストラスバーグの寄附により設置された、とあります。そうなんですね。

Did you know that the marble bench currently positioned adjacent to Marilyn Monroe's crypt was arranged and funded by the Marilyn Remembered Fan Club? In 2009, when the first bench needed to be replaced due to wear and tear, Marilyn Remembered started a campaign to raise money for a new one. The new bench was formally dedicated as part of the Marilyn Monroe Memorial in 2009 (by yours truly). The original bench was dedicated by Marilyn's friend Susan Strasberg.
